1 in 8 Canadian women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
On January 30, 2017 I became one of them. Since then I have undergone chemotherapy, surgery and am currently in radiation treatments. I have kept positive and healthy with the love and support of close family and friends and am incredibly grateful for the community of care that I have received.
I was thinking alot about how I could pay it forward; to be of service to others that will follow in the wake of these footsteps. I also wanted to ensure that it was an enjoyable experience, as to change the burdening energetic charge to something more uplifting and transformative, and it just felt right to: RUN it off.
That being said, I'll be participating in this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run. I'm running for all those who have undergone cancer, no matter what kind. I am running for women, men and children. I am running for friends and survivors; and for those we've lost. I'm running for myself and I'm running for my father.
My team, Team LoVe, will be running/walking alongside me for 5km on October 1, 2017. If you'd like to join, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org - you can register up until September 14, 2017, for $45.
If you'd prefer to contribute through donations, you can do so below. Any small contribution will help me reach my fundraising goal and will fund innovative breast cancer research to help save the lives of more women and provide support programs to those affected by this disease.
Much love and gratitude,
